The Christmas holidays begins today and will last for 2 weeks, officially from December 24 until January 8. Not only schools are closed, but many government agencies and companies also close office between Christmas and the New Year.
At the end of the year, primary and secondary school students have 2 weeks off.
Schools may not deviate from these dates for Christmas holidays. This is because this period includes holidays such as Christmas and the turn of the year (New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day).
There are many activities to do during the Christmas vacations, such as (artificial) skating on temporarily constructed rinks in cities, attending workshops, volunteering, (board) games, visiting Christmas markets, Amsterdam Light Festival, Christmas shows, etc.
