The countdown has started for Amsterdam Dance Event, or ADE. ADE begins, next week, on Wednesday, October 19 through Sunday, October 23. During this electronic festival, more than 2,500 artists will perform in the 140 best music and entertainment venues in Amsterdam. At the last edition in 2019, around 400,000 visitors enjoyed the extensive music program spread across the various venues.
Amsterdam Dance Event is the largest annual industry event and provides a solid foundation for future generations of electronic music professionals. The organization behind ADE is non-profit, committed to electronic music, culture, and industries worldwide. Amsterdam Dance Event Foundation promotes development, innovation, talent and bringing the global industries together.
ADE’s daily program offers entertainment, engagement, and many surprises for fans. Some examples are the dance music-related exhibitions, films, documentaries, DJ showcases, gear master classes and artists MusicTalks spread across 5 Amsterdam neighbourhoods.
ADE began in 1996, with dance music at the time seen as a way to protest against the mainstream, social injustice, and oppression. Subsequently, dance has transitioned into a variety of musical genres and subcultures, where both the experimental side and the commercial mainstream are triumphing.
